Well, we´re entering the final countdown of the transfer. This week was incredible! The first good news, as seen above, is that we had baptisms in the ward! Melvin (apparently a girl name; you never know with these Peruvians…) and Deisy got baptized this weekend! I don´t think I ever mentioned them much before, so this probably comes as a bit of a surprise. Deisy got to Peru not long ago from Venezuela. She hopes to bring her kids to Peru soon as well. Melvin is studying gastronomy in a university about a block away from the church. They both rent the same apartment from a ward member, and he was the one who brought them to church for the first time. It was kind of a weird teaching process, but they´re great people and I´m sure they´ll be great ward members. I also sent a picture of the missionaries in the ward, together with our great ward mission leader and faithful ward missionary.
Second piece of news this week is that we went to the temple! We almost didn´t make it because of some last-minute miscommunication about the travel route, but the tender mercies of the Lord made it possible (although His tender mercies didn´t save certain missionaries from some harsh correction from the assistants). It was an uplifting experience as always.
The most uplifting moment of the week was the last multizone conference of President and Sister Larson. Man, the Spirit was so strong! You could really feel the love they had for each of us. They talked mainly about integrity and how the mission reflects life afterwards. I will forever be thankful for the opportunity to have served with the Larsons. Next week, President Strong and Sister Strong will arrive, and President Strong will receive the keys of the missionary work in Lima Cental. The Larsons will be staying for a few days to help them get adjusted.
I know that this work is true, and I belong here. I´m happy to continue to progress as a missionary and after the mission. Until next time… HEROES NEVER DIE!
